Adele Laurie Blue Adkins atau dikenal sebagai Adele (lahir di Tottenham, London, 5 Mei1988; umur 23 tahun) adalah penyanyi jazz dan soul serta penulis lagu dari Inggris yang memiliki suara kontralto. Sejak album debutnya, 19, Adele telah menerima banyak pengakuan baik secara komersial dan kritis. Album tersebut memulai debutnya di nomor satu dan telah disertifikasi 4x platinum di Inggris. Pada Grammy Awards tahun 2009, Adele memenangkan penghargaan untuk Pendatang Baru Terbaik dan Penampilan Vokal Pop Terbaik.[2][3]
Adele merilis album keduanya, 21 pada tanggal 24 Januari 2011 di Inggris dan 22 Februari di Amerika Serikat.[4][5] Album ini sukses baik secara kritis dan komersial,[6] menjual 208.000 kopi dalam minggu pertama di Inggris dan memulai debutnya pada nomor satu di UK Singles Chart, posisi tersebut berhasil bertahan selama enam belas minggu.[7] Di Inggris, 21 telah disertifikasi 10x Platinum untuk penjualan sebesar 3 juta unit.[8] Album ini memulai debutnya di nomor satu Billboard 200 di Amerika Serikat, menjual 352.000 kopi dalam minggu pertama.[5][9] Album ini berada di nomor satu di tangga lagu 17 negara Eropa dan Amerika Serikat.[10]
